Do I need dance experience?

No need at all! We can teach everything you need to know step by step. It will be up to you to sass it up in your own style. We always have options for you so everyone can enjoy learning new dance choreography.

What should I wear?

Most importantly, wear whatever you feel is comfortable!

For pole classes, we recommend either a t-shirt, vest top, or sports bra; and either pole bottoms or shorts.
Feel free to do warm up in tracksuit bottoms and change into your pole bottoms or shorts for the rest of the class. You can take your lessons either in bare feet or wear heels that will stay on and have a good grip on the soles.
If you are bringing your own high heels, please make sure there are no buckles or jewels on the front of the shoes. Please also avoid wearing watches, bracelets or rings as it can cause scratches on the poles.

For other aerial classes, we recommend wearing leggings or tracksuit bottoms to protect your skin. These classes can be taken in socks or bare feet.

To get your hands on some Sugar Pole merchandise, why not have a look at our shop?

How much does it cost?

There are a number of prices depending on what type of class you want to sign on to. There are also various discounts and packages available.

See our Book Online page for more information.

What should I bring?

Water!

You may also want to bring a towel, hand grip (we sell this if you need it), but most importantly your willingness to learn!

Will the classes help me lose weight and tone up?

Absolutely! It will also depend on your commitment and your normal daily routine and diet of course but we have seen many of our students transform themselves to a much fitter and healthier version of themselves.
We will take you through some cardio and MSE (muscle, strength and endurance) training during warm up so no doubt you will get strong for the pole, hoop, or hammock!

What is the weight limit?

Sugarpole Dance & Aerial is for people of all shapes and sizes, however the weight limit for Xpole is 115kg or 18 stone.

Where can I park?

At our Northampton studio there are no restrictions in the evening after 6pm and all day Sunday. For daytime sessions, please find the 2 hour parking bays located on Cranstoun Street, Robert Street or Margret Street, otherwise there are plenty of spaces available at Upper Mounts car park for 60p/hour or £1.20/2 hours.

Is there an age limit?

To attend group sessions you must be 16 or over, however we are able to cater for younger students through private tuition, sessions for children are £25 for 45 mins, please drop us a message if you are interested!

Can I participate whilst pregnant?

Pole and aerial fitness can be quite testing on your body but you will know your own limits better than anyone, so it is entirely at your own discretion if you would like to continue during pregnancy. If you are unsure, please get advice from your doctor first. Due to the difficulty of some of the more advanced moves, we would not recommend pole/aerial during pregnancy for absolute beginners.
